Vitrina Engine compared with HetrixTools
HetrixTools is a good fit if you want a lot of uptime and server monitors for very little money, or blacklist monitoring across thousands of IP addresses. Vitrina Engine suits teams that need more than a check and an alert: on-call, full white-label status pages, separate client workspaces, and checks on the systems behind the website — mail servers, SMS gateways, SIP and network devices, including ones inside your own network.

Where HetrixTools is the better choice
- Locations you choose. Up to 12 locations, checked at the same time, with a setting for how many must fail before you are alerted.
- Blacklist monitoring at a very large scale — up to 16,384 monitors on its own plans, with Microsoft SNDS.
- SMS from its cheapest paid plan: 25 credits a month on Professional, at $9.95. Ours has SMS from Pro.
- More than 20 alert integrations, including Opsgenie, Jira, ilert and Pushover.
- Uptime history kept indefinitely on every plan.
- A low price per monitor at the top. Enterprise is $49.95 a month for 200 uptime and 200 server monitors.
Where Vitrina Engine is the better choice
- A bigger free plan, and a faster one below a minute. Ours is 50 monitors checked every minute, against 15 uptime and 15 server monitors at the same cadence. HetrixTools stops at one minute on every plan, including Enterprise; Pro checks every 30 seconds, Business every 15 and Enterprise every 5.
- On-call is built in. Schedules and escalation are part of Pro, at $19 a month. HetrixTools repeats an alert and leaves escalation to a separate service such as PagerDuty or ilert.
- Full white-label status pages from $19. On HetrixTools, removing its branding needs Enterprise at $49.95; the lower plans keep “Powered by HetrixTools” on the page.
- Status page subscribers, from Starter. HetrixTools does not publish a way for visitors to subscribe.
- Client workspaces that keep clients apart. From Pro, a client signs in and sees only their own monitors and status page, never your other clients.
- Private probes. From Pro, a probe runs inside your network and watches systems with no public address. HetrixTools publishes no equivalent.
- Checks for the systems behind the website: IMAP, POP3, SNMP, SMPP, SIP and XMPP, as well as SMTP; databases and Docker containers from Pro; and NetFlow, sFlow, J-Flow and IPFIX traffic analysis from Business, collected on your own private probe.
- A TLS configuration audit and mail authentication checks for SPF, DMARC and DKIM, not only certificate expiry.
- Error tracking and web analytics included. Point a Sentry SDK at us, and measure traffic without cookies, on every plan.
- One incident for one cause. Tell a monitor what it depends on, and when the dependency fails you get one incident naming it, not an alert for every monitor behind it.
- An audit log of every change, from Business.
- An MCP server, so an AI agent can read your monitors and incidents with an API key.
- A published data processing agreement, with your data kept in the European Union. HetrixTools’ GDPR page names no country.

The prices are close. If you need a server monitor for every website, HetrixTools gives you more of them for the money; if you need your own brand on the page, someone to be woken up, or checks faster than a minute, Vitrina Engine includes all three.

Watching internal networks and telecoms systems
HetrixTools checks from its own locations on the public internet. It publishes no private or self-hosted probe, and no checks for SNMP, SIP, SMPP, XMPP, IMAP or POP3; SMTP is the one mail protocol it tests. Anything without a public address has to be reached some other way.
Vitrina Engine runs private probes inside your network. A probe leases its work over HTTPS and never holds a database credential, so it can sit next to the systems it watches. Beside the web checks, it speaks the protocols those systems do: SNMP polls the OIDs you name and judges each against a threshold, SMPP binds and unbinds from an SMSC, SIP sends OPTIONS to a proxy, and XMPP opens a stream and negotiates STARTTLS. Each of these proves more than an open port does.
