Vitrina Engine compared with Better Stack

Better Stack is an observability platform with uptime monitoring inside it: logs, traces, error tracking, session replay and incident management, priced per responder seat and by add-on. It suits a team that wants all of that from one vendor and has the budget for it. Vitrina Engine is monitoring first: thirty kinds of check, status pages, on-call, error tracking and analytics at a flat plan price, with the kinds of check an internal network or a telecoms operator actually needs.

Checked on 13 September 2026. Prices are each company’s published list prices in US dollars before tax; ours are set per country, so yours may differ.

Where Better Stack is the better choice

  • Unlimited phone call and SMS alerts are included in the seat price. We send capped SMS on Pro and Business, and no phone calls at all.
  • Mature on-call: calendar sync, one-click cover requests, multi-level escalation and AI-drafted postmortems built from the incident timeline.
  • Playwright browser checks that run a real user journey.
  • Logs, traces and session replay from the same vendor as your uptime checks.
  • Google SSO included; Okta and Azure at $5 per user a month.
  • A hosted MCP server that manages incidents and teams as well, where ours manages monitors.
  • Critical alerts in their iOS and Android apps, which ring through Do Not Disturb. Our apps send outages as time-sensitive notifications, which reach you through Focus modes but do not override a phone set to silent.
  • SOC 2 Type 2.

Where Vitrina Engine is the better choice

  • A flat price, not a seat count. Pro is $19 a month for 200 monitors and 10 seats with on-call and escalation included. At Better Stack each responder is $34 a month, so the bill grows with the rota.
  • Faster checks, and a free plan that is not a demo. Better Stack’s fastest is 30 seconds; Pro matches it at $19, Business checks every 15 seconds and Enterprise every 5. Their free plan is 10 monitors every three minutes and is described as for personal projects; ours is 50 monitors every minute, commercial use included.
  • White-label status pages from $19. Removing our branding and adding custom CSS is part of Pro. Better Stack charges $250 a month per page for white-label.
  • An audit log from $49. It is part of Business. At Better Stack it is a $250 a month add-on.
  • Client workspaces. From Pro, an agency keeps each client in a workspace of its own, with users who see only their own monitors and status pages.
  • Private probes inside your network. From Pro, a probe runs on your own hardware and checks anything it can reach. Better Stack reaches private networks over HTTP only, through a proxy you run.
  • Checks an internal network needs. SNMP, SMPP, SIP and XMPP, alongside a TLS configuration audit, SPF, DMARC and DKIM checks for mail authentication, and blocklist monitoring.
  • Containers and network traffic. Docker container health from Pro, and NetFlow, sFlow, J-Flow and IPFIX traffic analysis from Business, collected on your own private probe so the flow records never leave your network.
  • Server agents on every plan. CPU, memory and disk from the host itself, without a separate telemetry bill.
  • Error tracking and analytics included. Point any Sentry SDK at us, and measure traffic without cookies, on every plan.
  • One incident for a root cause. Monitors declare what they depend on, so a failing database opens one incident and marks the services behind it as consequences instead of paging you for each.
  • Your data stays in the European Union. A check that carries credentials, a request header or a body, only ever runs from inside it.

What a small team pays

Fifty monitors, three people on call and one status page, at each company’s published monthly prices.

Better StackVitrina Engine

Three people on call3 responder seats at $34 each: $102Included in Pro, up to 10 seats
One status pageIncludedIncluded
Total$127 a month$19 a month
With the status page white-labelled$377 a month$19 a month

That is not quite like for like, and the difference matters. Better Stack’s bill includes unlimited phone call and SMS alerts. Ours includes SMS up to 10 a day, 15 a week and 30 a month on Pro, and no phone calls. If a phone ringing at night is how your team gets woken, weigh that before the price.

Watching internal networks and telecoms systems

Better Stack monitors a private network over HTTP only, through a Squid proxy the customer runs and exposes to it. It does not publish SNMP, SIP, SMPP or XMPP checks, so a switch, a voice platform or an SMS gateway is watched, at best, as an open port.

A Vitrina Engine private probe runs inside your network and leases its work from us over HTTPS, holding no database credential, so nothing needs to be exposed to the internet. From there, SNMP polls the OIDs you name and judges each against a threshold; SMPP binds to the SMSC and unbinds without sending a message; SIP sends OPTIONS and reads the answer; and XMPP opens a stream and negotiates STARTTLS. Each proves the service is working, not only that its port is open.
